Food

During our stay in Russia, we have been treated to the best of the best which includes the food we were served. We have eaten American cuisine ( KFC, McDonalds, carry out pizza, Hard Rock Cafe and Starbucks), and we have eaten the food of Russia.

1. Sunday-Russian form of crepes, and pork shish kabobs. In the evening we were served cabbage with pork and beef.

2. Monday-for lunch we had penne with a carrot, tomato, and onion sauce, and cooked beef similar to stew. For dinner we had Russian chicken and rice pilaf and a wonderful potato salad.

3. Tuesday-for lunch we ate mashed potatoes and sausage which in America would be a boiled weiner. For dinner we had Borsh and a crab salad.

4. Wednesday-lunch was a taco sub and ice cream cones for dessert. For dinner we ate leftovers.

5. Thursday-for lunch we ate breaded chicken filets and coleslaw and vinegaret. For dinner we had pork with boiled potatoes.

6. Friday-we made a russian goulash. It was so good. For dinner Maxim made salanka and we had a fresh fruit salad.

7. Saturday-for lunch we made a fresh tomato, cucumber, lettuce, olive and cheese salad topped with a lemon and oil salad dressing. For dinner we were treated to dinner in a fancy Chinese restaurant. Yum. My favorite course was dessert which was a fruit tempura.

8. Sunday-we ate pilaf for lunch after church and we ordered Russian pizza in the evening.

9. Monday-for lunch we ate a greek salad and delicious cookies. Monday night we ate our dinner on the train. Denise and I experienced God's grace as he really took loaves and "fishes (salami) and increased it to serve 15 people one of which was a young Russian business man. A seed was planted.

And yes we ate breakfast everyday. Ralph cooked one morning and then the rest of the week we ate whatever we could create from leftovers.

I will add recipes to this post later on today.
